I was so glad that Apple has finally allowed text messages to be forwarded on the IPhone 3.0 operating system. At first, it was difficult to find because I did not know exactly what to do, but pressing the button in the upper right corner seemed to the trick. Not complaining much at all, but somewhat suprised that it has taken Apple this long to enable such a feature. In receving a text message in what building to teach a class, it was much easier to forward to my coworker rather than always writing the message down as I had to do in the past. How do you feel in using the new feature?

Just browsing and commenting on Twitter today, I have learned alot and seen how excited people are about the new IPhone 3Gs. I have always been impressed with the IPhone and seeing how it builds so much hype is amazing. Even though the newer phone has upgrades that make it faster, in reality, your getting the same thing unless your a techno nut or love taking pics. Overtime, the IPhone 3Gs will be useful because it will be able to stream more complex applications.
To those of you you are waiting till midnight, best of luck. Today, people are just excited to see new applications coming out and the new improved speeds, probably for the gamers. Talk of using bluetooth game controllers for the iphone has spurred about and would be an excellent idea. I was playing a newer RPG (forgot the name) and had difficulity in using the controller on the phone. Stereo bluetooth will be exciting and well, we’ll see how it pans out. AT&T is backlogged including several Best Buy stores around the nation. AT&T is currently taking IPhone orders which will come to the person about a week later… it’s worth the wait… right? Guess what? You know that on E-Bay, someone will sell one for an insane price. I’m just waiting to look that up. Finally, if your one of the people who has preordered your phone and have been waiting on it, I hope you get it on Thursday because there are many people who are claming to get their phone on the 18th. All this on more always found on twitter

The only thing I hate about the IPhone is that it generates a bunch of nonknowing nerds. No, not the typical “hey this pc requires a new modem, a board, and cpu”, but the people who struggle to wish to know everything about an IPhone and have no clue about it. For example, I went into my neighbors house and I sat down showing my wife’s friend this new blog site, mobilepro97.com. Yes, I love the IPhone, but actually know about other hardware and etc and do not brag endlessly. Well, some neighbor of that neighbor walked in (who was not invited and stealing my wife’s friend BBQ grill without asking) and see’s my IPhone. She says that I should upgrade my new one and instantly, I got a headache. I have tons and tons of applications and already know what the IPhone 3Gs does over the current IPhone 3G. It has the compass, more RAM, more CPU power, but guess what… I’m not going to pay over $500 for the upgrade. She goes on about the 1.2 megapixel bump not realizing how much that really is and told me about the video. Even so, I would rarely use my IPhone for this unless it was a 5-10 megapixel camera and was easier to use. She goes on and on and I tell her, hey I got sites about this stuff. She blew me off and told me about the compass when I just used the Map feature to get me to this neighbors house. Yes, I get the compass tells me what direction I’m facing, but god, she went for about three minutes how well the compass works. I know there are people who want the latest and greatest, but I can tell she is one of the type of “IPhone Nerds” who is clueless about stuff. She’s the type of person you can trick into thinking that a Kia Rio with an upgraded V6 can outrun a V4 Mustang and is worth keeping. Grr… IPhone Nerds… learn your stuff before you agitate people and sound like the people at Best Buy (and don’t get me started with them).

Good luck on finding an IPhone if you have not ordered one yet. Most people assume that on the release date that can simply come pick up the new IPhone 3Gs at the 7am time, but guess what? That is only for people who have preordered their IPhones. If your going there, you will have to wait another hour which is until 8am. If there any left over phones for sale assuming that you do not get trampled. If you have the current 3G phone, the upgrade is not worth the rush unless you need the latest and greatest.

It has been reported that the IPhone 3Gs preorders are currently sold out. What might be semi disappointing is that the preorder of 3Gs IPhones might not reach stores in time because of the high demand and supply constraints. Users who do not receive their new phones in time will receive an email when it will be available at the store for pickup. People forget that bestbuy and some walmart locations will be able to pick up the phone. AT&T assumed that the demand would falter because the current 3Gs price reductions and because of future expensive upgrades for customers who are not qualified yet. Apple should always take note that when it comes to their products, people for now will always want the latest hip product.
