It has been noted that Intel broke Moore’s Law by not following the doubling efforts per 18 months. Intel cannot be blamed because they are working to make the processors more energy efficient and run with less heat. Good news is that the new updated Intel Atom will run as a duo processors for some device. The update includes having the chip components closer to each other to take up less space. Intel will have to continue to work harder because the ever efficient ARM processor is catching up. It currently is used in mobile phones and PDA devices. The newest one can run around 600mhz. It would be a feat to see the Intel Atom running as a Quad-Core.
